Day cruise at Antiparos, Despotiko, the sea cave and Agios Georgios

Description

A day in Antiparos, Despotiko, visit to a sea cave and Agios Georgios.

Starting from the marina of Platis Gialos and turning left, first we come across the beautiful church of Chrisopigi, the patron of Sifnos, built on the rock, and then the 3 lace-like beaches of Pharos.

Leaving Sifnos behind us we head east and after a 20 minute course we approach the first isle, Stroggili, which is uninhabited.

We continue to Despotiko with the magical Livadi beach where you will swim in its sky blue waters, by all accounts one of the most stunning beaches of Cyclades.

Leaving the beach we will visit the exquisite Antiparos Island with its amazing volcanic shore where we will stay for 3 hours.

Here you can enjoy a swim, have a meal in one of the traditional tavernas or visit the famous cave of Antiparos.

After delighting in the sun and the sea we will take the way back to the bay of Platis Gialos.

Day cruise at Polyaigos and Kimolos

Description

A day in Polyaigos and Kimolos

Starting from the marina of Platis Gialos and heading southwest we enter the strait between Kitriani and Sifnos.

To out left we admire the exquisite chapel of Panagia Kitriani built on the uninhabited island by the same name.

We follow a course south and very soon we are in the cove of the Polyaigos lighthouse on a small gorgeous beach where you can swim in its sky blue waters. Don’t forget to take a picture of the famous Polyaigos lighthouse built at 130 metres above sea level.

From there, we start again and head west to cove Kalogeri. Here we’ll make a stop to admire the aqua blue waters with the white sand.

We steer for the isle of Kimolos and in a few minutes we approach the port, Psathi. We’ll stay here for 2 to 2½ hours for a meal and a coffee or if you want, you can visit on foot the Chora of Kimolos which is very near. There, you’ll admire the majestic church of Panagia Odigitria.

We head off again to visit the rest of the island’s beaches like Agios Minas, Goupa Kara and Prasa, the most beautiful beach of Kimolos. After a short swim there, we’ll head northeast and return to the cove of Platis Gialos.

Half day in Polyegos

Description

Half day in Polyegos

Starting from the marina of Platis Gialos and heading south west, we enter the strait between Kitriani and Sifnos. To our left we see the lovely chapel of Panagia Kitriani, built on the namesake uninhabited island.

We continue south and very shortly we are at the cove of the Polyaigos lighthouse built on a 130m altitude.

We start again, this time heading west to the cove of Kalogeros. Here we will make a stop to admire the aqua blue waters and the white sand. Our route takes us around the island’s coastline to admire the small coves and caves that the waves and the ferocity of the sea have carved on these forgotten by nature rocks. Finally, we start heading back to the Platis Gialos Beach.

Day cruise at Folegandros

Description

We leave Platis Gialos’ marina heading south-east. After Platis Gialos, on our right, there is the small uninhabited island of Kitriani, on which there is only one building, the church of Panagia Kitriani.

Heading south - southeast and after about 16 nautical miles, we are going to reach the island of Folegandros.

Our first visit will be on the coast of Agios Georgios, a small and quiet inlet, where we can enjoy the crystal clear waters of the beach.

Continuing our journey and heading southeast, we are going to pass by the southern beaches of Folegandros. On the way, we pass by Ampeli and the bay of Vathi, with the two largest and most popular beaches of Agios Nikolaos and Agali.

Now we can enjoy our coffee and swim in the area while getting a first taste of Folegandros.

Departing from Agali, our destination is the best beach on the island, Katergo, a beach with calm and clear waters, thanks to the morphology of the coasts around it.

After enjoying Katergo, our final destination is Karavostasis, the main port of the island.

Here it is worth stopping and taking the local bus to visit Folegandros’ Chora.

Built above the bay of Piaka, its unique view and traditional architecture bring to mind once again the beauty of the Cyclades. Here we will explore the picturesque streets of Chora, where you will have the time to have a coffee and visit the local shops in the area. Finally if you like walking, you should visit Panagia of Folegandros, where from the view is going to be the best memory of our short trip.

Leaving, we will descend again back to the beach of Karavostasi to take the road of return towards Sifnos.

Day cruise at Milos (Sarakiniko - Kleftiko - Firopotamos)

Description

We depart from the marina of Platis Gialos, heading southwest, we enter the narrow passage between Kitriani and Sifnos; we continue in this direction and after half an hour we reach the coasts of Milos.

Our destination is now Kleftiko, the hiding place of pirates with breathtaking towering cliffs.

We sail along the west side of the island and see the cave of Sykia and other beautiful beaches.

Then, we head towards the beach of Fyropotamos, with amazing turquoise waters where you can swim and relax.

Our final destination is Sarakiniko with the lunar landscape: whitewashed rocks in fascinating shapes surrounding a closed bay.

Leave yourselves in the deep blue of the Aegean Sea and feel the nature embracing you. After enjoying the sun and the magnificent landscape we take our way back to the bay of Platis Gialos.

Half day in Milos (Sarakiniko - Navagio - Mandrakia)

Description

We depart from the marina of Platis Gialos bound south west. We enter the strait between Kitriani and Sifnos and staying on this course, half an hour later we approach the coastline of Milos. Our first stop is Mandrakia. Here we stop to swim and relax enjoying the pristine blue waters.

After Mandrakia we follow a north-western course and arrive at the Shipwreck. Here we stop, and 8 to 10m below you can see with your face masks the old shipwreck of an iron ship that gave the opportunity to large colonies of fish to develop.

After our swim at the wreck, our last destination is Sarakiniko with the lunar scenery (bright white boulders in magical shapes enfold a closed cove. We are going to enjoy the sun and the enchanting scenery and make a start for our return to the bay of Platis Gialos.

The tour of Sifnos

Description

The tour of Sifnos in one day

We depart from the marina of Platis Gialos heading southwest and we find ourselves in the strait between Sifnos and the uninhabited Kitriani Island with the church of great historical value carrying the same name.

Continuing our course we reach the Kontou promontory and as we enter we see the church of Agios Georgios to our left and the sandy beach of Fikiada in the background where we can enjoy our first dive.

From there we head to Vathi cove, a closed cove with traditional tavernas and a wind-protected beach. Continuing right we find other beaches and after a few minutes we arrive at the main port of Sifnos, Kamares. There, we’ll admire the churches of Profitis Ilias and Agios Simeon at the summit of the mountain.

Next, we get to Vroulidia cove, a small beautiful beach with aqua blue waters and there we can have our lunch. Next stop is the Heronissos cove, a quaint little beach with a multitude of fishing boats. Leaving Heronissos behind us we pass several bays like Vlihada and the famous promontory of Agios Sostis, known for its mines since antiquity.

In a few minutes we’ll see the church of Panagia Poulati and from there, keeping course south we continue to Kastro and the Seralia beach where we can stop for a quick dive in these sparkling clean waters.

Continuing southwest this time we come across the 3 beaches lined up one after the other, Pharos, Fasolou and Glifos. A stop here is a must for a dive in these 3, wind-protected beaches.

What we see next is the promontory with the stunning monastery of Chrisopigi perched majestically on the cut rock and to our right we see the Apokoftos beach with the sparking clean emerald waters.

Finally, after Chrisopigi we complete our tour returning to the marina of Platis Gialos!

Half day at Sifnos

Description

Half day in Sifnos (Faros-Glifo-Fassolou-Chrissopigi-Kitriani-Fykiada)

We depart from the marina of Platis Gialos bound south east. We come across the cosmopolitan church of Chrisopigi that gives the impression it has climbed up the rock.

Continuing our course, we reach the beaches of Faros, 3 small pretty beaches untouched by time. There you swim and admire the remnants of the mines looking down from the rock above. We change to a south western course heading to the uninhabited island of Kitriani with the namesake church of great historical value.

Without change of direction we arrive at the Kondos promontory and as we enter, we can see the church of Saint George to our left and further ahead the sandy beach of Fikiada where we can enjoy a swim and a refreshment or a meal.

After Fykiada we complete our tour by returning to the marina of Platis Gialos!

Serifos

Description

Whole day in Serifos

From the marina of Platis Gialos we depart bound south-east and after passing the southern beaches of Sifnos we get to the Sifnos-Serifos strait. Forty minutes later we arrive at the promontory of Spathi and turn right into Kalo Ambeli, a nice little harbour not accessible by car, where we can have our first swim in Serifos before continuing to the rest of the beaches of the island.

Heading west, 10 minutes later we approach he cove of Koutala, a small protected cove with calm blue waters. Ηere we will disembark, and you can enjoy a stroll on the beach, a swim or a meal.

After some leisurely time and a meal, we leave Koutala behind us and we head up north to Livadi. This will be our longest stop, with a visit to Serifos’ Chora and a nice cup of coffee. The stunning view combined with the Cycladic architecture will reward you.

After Livadi it is time to return to Sifnos and half an hour later we arrive at the marina of Platis Gialos.
